The Founder

Justin Myers

Navy Veteran, Entrepreneur & Leadership Speaker

Justin Myers served in the United States Navy, where he developed the discipline, leadership, and mission-driven mindset that now defines everything he builds. After his service, he channeled those values into entrepreneurship — founding Pirate Hunter Enterprises as the parent organization for a growing portfolio of businesses and community initiatives.

Justin believes that the principles that make great military leaders — integrity, accountability, teamwork, and service before self — are the same principles that build great businesses and great communities. His work spans entrepreneurship, leadership development, veteran support, hospitality, and community engagement.

Through Pirate Hunter Enterprises, Justin is building an ecosystem of businesses and initiatives that create real opportunities for entrepreneurs, veterans, and community members throughout the Lowcountry and beyond.

Core Values

What We Stand For

01

Service Before Self

We put the needs of our community, our partners, and our people ahead of personal gain. Service is not a strategy — it's who we are.

02

Integrity Always

We do what we say, say what we mean, and hold ourselves to the highest standard of honesty in every interaction.

03

Leadership Through Action

We lead by example. Real leadership is demonstrated through consistent action, not titles or words.

04

Excellence Every Day

We pursue excellence in everything we build — from the smallest detail to the largest initiative. Good enough is never good enough.

05

Community First

Every business we build, every partnership we form, and every event we host is designed to strengthen the communities we serve.

06

Build a Legacy

We think beyond the next quarter. We are building organizations, relationships, and impact that will outlast us.

The Origin Story

How Justin Became
The Pirate Hunter

Before the businesses, the speaking stages, and the community initiatives — there was a mission. Serving as a Gunner's Mate aboard the USS Ashland (LSD-48), Justin Myers deployed to the waters off the Horn of Africa during the height of the Somali piracy crisis. What happened on April 10, 2010 gave him a name he carries to this day.

"Pirate Killer" — 10 April 2010

April 10, 2010.
The Day the Name Was Earned.

Deployed aboard the USS Ashland (LSD-48) in the waters off the Horn of Africa, Gunner's Mate Third Class Justin Myers was part of a Maritime Security Operations team tasked with countering the surge of Somali piracy threatening international shipping lanes.

On April 10, 2010, his team intercepted and neutralized a pirate threat at sea. In recognition of his actions that day, his shipmates presented him with an engraved shell casing — inscribed with his name, his rate, and a title he never asked for but has carried ever since: "Pirate Killer."

That moment — the discipline, the mission focus, the willingness to act when it mattered — became the foundation for everything Justin has built since. Pirate Hunter Enterprises isn't just a name. It's a reminder that the same qualities that make great warriors make great leaders, great entrepreneurs, and great community builders.

"The mission never ends. It just changes."
